Description
The Ship Security Officer (SSO) course is conducted in accordance with the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) guidelines and the ISPS Code. This training prepares seafarers to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer onboard vessels, including implementing ship security plans, conducting security assessments, and managing security procedures.
The course is completed through three mandatory steps:
Step 1 – DGS E-Learning
Candidates must complete the DGS E-Learning module through the official DGS website.

Step 2 – Institute Training
Candidates must attend the training sessions conducted by the institute. Course joining details and instructions will be shared with students prior to the start of the course.
Step 3 – DGS Exit Examination
After completing the above steps, candidates must appear for the DGS Exit Exam (Online).
The exit exam fee is ₹295 per attempt, which will be paid to DGS through the institute. Candidates will receive three attempts to clear the exam. If unsuccessful after three attempts, the institute training must be rebooked.
Please note that the course certificate will only be issued after successful completion of all three steps, including the DGS E-Learning module.
After successful booking, an auto-generated email confirmation will be sent with course details and further instructions.
