Description
The Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STSDSD) course is conducted in accordance with the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) guidelines. This training is mandatory for seafarers who are assigned designated security duties onboard ships under the ISPS Code.
The course is completed through three mandatory steps:
Step 1 – DGS E-Learning
Candidates must complete the DGS E-Learning module through the official DGS website.

Step 2 – Institute Training
Candidates must attend the training sessions conducted by the institute. Course joining information and schedule details will be shared with students before the course begins.
Step 3 – DGS Exit Examination
After completing the above steps, candidates must appear for the DGS Exit Exam (Online).
The Exit Exam Fee is ₹295 per attempt, which must be paid to the institute and will be submitted to DGS on the candidate’s behalf.
Candidates are allowed three attempts to clear the examination. If unsuccessful after three attempts, the training session must be rebooked.
Please note that the course certificate will only be issued after successful completion of all three steps including the DGS E-Learning module.
Upon successful booking, an auto-generated email confirmation will be sent with complete course details and instructions.

Minimum Eligibility – A valid INDOS Number is mandatory.
